Beanie-Weenies

Can you believe my kids had never eaten beanie-weanies? I guess I'd fogotten one of my childhood favorites. I was looking through recipes at Patti's Pantry and came across this one. It was quick, easy and inexpensive... so I knew I must try it! Although I wouldn't want to eat beanie-weenies every night, they make a simple go-to meal. They tasted great for a change. At only 52 cents per serving this dish is a great value! BEWARE OF TOOTING CHILDREN AND HUSBANDS!!! :)

BEANIE-WEENIES
1 1/2 envelopes onion soup mix
3 cans pork and beans
3 TBSP brown sugar
1/2 cup catsup
3 TBSP mustard
1 package hot dogs, sliced
1/3 cup water

Mix all ingredients together in medium saucepan. Cover and cook on med-low for 20-30 minutes or until onions from soup mix are tender. Stir often so it doesn't burn.

I've never had beanie weenies! From the ingredients, I'm guessing they're a little sweet? That probably wouldn't be my thing...but the kids would love them!
Oh, I LOVE beanie weenies! Got a couple cans in the pantry right now, thanks for reminding me!
