Cake Mix Dinner Rolls

I've been eyeing these cake mix rolls on Mommy's Kitchen for quite some time now. Rolls out of a cake mix... I knew I had to try them. Tonight I finally made them. I used half of the dough for crescent shaped rolls and the other half for cinnamon rolls. Brad was on his second one when I asked him if the rolls were good. He said ya. I asked if they tasted sweet. No, he didn't think so. Then I told him what they were made out of. He was suprised (well, kind of because he never knows what I will try to feed him!). Everyone thought they were really good. They were also pretty simple to make. You need to try these rolls out for yourself. You won't be disappointed. They also make great conversation :)

CAKE MIX DINNER ROLLS
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water
3 1/4 cups flour
1 (9 oz) Jiffy cake mix, white or yellow
1/4 cup melted margarine
2 eggs whites, beaten

Dissolve yeast in warm water and let stand until creamy (about 10 minutes). Stir in cake mix and flour and mix until smooth. Knead dough on flour covered counter until not sticky. Turn into oiled bowl and turn to coat. Cover with a damp towel and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour). Deflate and turn onto floured surface. Divide into 2 and let rest 5 minutes before rolling out into 12 inch circles. Using pizza cutter, slice into 10 portions per 12 inch circle. Brush with butter and roll up into crescent shapes. Place on greased baking sheets and brush with butter and beaten egg whites. Cover and let rise 25 minutes, or until doubled. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter.
