Jello Cake

This is a very easy jello cake I grew up loving. My family loves it now too! The jello and cool whip do magic things to a plain white cake mix. It's so yummy and springy tasting. I also love making it for a BBQ. Everyone always gobbles it down fast because it's cool and refreshing. Today Sophie went for her Kindergarten screening, so we had to make something special. If you have never made this cake before you must. You will not be disappointed. I usually use red jello, but any flavor will work. Enjoy :)

JELLO CAKE
1 white cake mix
1 box jello
1 tub cool whip

Bake cake according to package directions for a 9x13 pan; let cool. Using the end of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over cake a few inches apart. Make jello according to package directions. Pour evenly over the top of the cake. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Top with cool whip before serving. Keep refridgerated.

Oh how funny! This was on my menu for last week. We ended up making Banana Pudding instead. I'll probably make it in the next day or so. I'm glad that you love it so much - I'm sure my kids will too!

Jello cakes ARE fun. I even read the other day where some clever baker was making pudding cakes, poking the holes just a tad bigger and pouring liquidy jello pudding in there.

Don't think I've tried jello cake before. Or jello in a cake for that matter. It's like the easiest cake one can make, too. I shal be trying this sometime.
