Teriyaki Sirloin Steak

Yesterday I had a busy afternoon. It was prom day and for the past 9 years that has meant an afternoon of doing hair. Some years I have had to hurry to get 5 girls done in only a few hours, but this year I just had one. All my hair girls have graduated except for my cousin Alexi. She's a senior this year, so it will be a while before I have to do any more prom hair. I knew my afternoon would be busy, so the night before I put this steak in the marinade getting it ready for Brad to grill. I wasn't done with Alexi until 4, so I was glad I didn't have to come up with something to cook. This steak turned out great. It was juicy, tender and the marinade was so good! Everyone really enjoyed this. We all agreed this recipe's a keeper and will be made again very soon :)
Here's Alexi. I wish I would have gotten a picture in her pretty dress. Isn't she a beauty?
TERIYAKI SIRLOIN STEAK
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp ground mustard
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp garlic powder
1- 1 1/2 lb. sirloin steak
In a big zip loc bag, combine first 6 ingredients; add steak. Seal and turn to coat. Refrigerate at least 8 hours and grill until meat it done to your liking. Baste with marinade while cooking and then throw away what you don't use.

Very pretty the hairdo and the steak. I love Teriyaki it is one of my favorite marinades. I bet it was so good marinading that long. That would be awesome with Coconut Rice.

Great marinade! I love when we use the grill - my husband is in charge so it leaves me free to do other things!
