M & M Cookies

When I had my giveaway a while back I got all kinds of great sounding recipes (they were your favorites, so they have to be good!) These cookies were posted by Alison and I thought they sounded so good I made them a few days later. I had forgotten I got a picture of them and was looking back on my camera and found it. Yay me (I've been listening to by London Tipton loving daughters to much)! These cookies were awesome. My kids, by themselves, ate about 4 dozen of them in less than a week. They were addicted. Brad didn't like them because he will only eat soft cookies and these were crunchy. He's goofy and doesn't count... although I have missed him and will be glad when he gets off the plane tonight. I was very glad to find the picture for the cookies because the past few nights I have been letting the kids pick our suppers and we have had spaghetti and pizza. Nothing for me to take pictures of and post. My only instructions from Brad was NOT to grill :) Oh, and it was a gas grill that I started on fire... not a charcoal grill. Brad said I was the only person he has ever saw start a gas grill on fire. I must be talented!

M & M COOKIES
1 cup brown
1 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup oil
4 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
4 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp salt
m&m's (I used the whole big bag)

Combine first 5 ingredients and cream about 2 min. Add vegetable oil & mix well. Sift dry ingredients together and add to dough; mixing just until combined. Fold in m&m's. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 min.

Can't go wrong with using a whole bag of M&Ms in cookies! They look really good.
I love a good crunchy cookie-- these look great! We're using M&M's as potty training bribery now, so maybe these could be an ultimate prize!!

The boys would love these, making my jeans feel tight just thinking of them ... LOL

Ok funny thing I've been replying to your comments via email. But the funny thing is you don't have an email listed so some where in blogger land is a bunch of replies to you ... LOL Yup had to share my blonde moment.
The more M&M's the merrier! These look wonderful! My oldest loves anything with M&M's.

Love the colors of the M&M's; it makes them look so much more fun. Heidi, I offered to bring work treats and I think this has made the list. Who wouldn't love these brightly colored, colored studded goodies!

Made these today with the kids-love them! Shortening makes every cookie softer & yummier (k, I'm sure that's not a real word)! Thanks for the recipe.
