Congratulations are in order. I'm excited to announce 9 year old Kelcie won a first place blue ribbon and a big purple ribbon for Smithton Town and Country Fair Best of Show with the Symphony Pie recipe I posted a few weeks ago!! Her mom emailed me to share the news. Kelcie made it all by herself. I'm so excited and honored she chose a recipe from my blog. I'm proud of you Kelcie! I would also like to say a BIG happy birthday to my friend Tina (who's by the way a janitor who strips floors, not clothing...). She's the big 50 today! I brought this cake to work to celebrate with her. It's very easy to make and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Most of them ate two pieces, so it must have good :)
CHOCOLATE THUNDER CAKE
1 chocolate cake mix baked according to package directions in a 9 x 13 pan
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 jar of fudge ice cream topping
1 (16 oz) tub cool whip
2 crushed Heath candy bars (I used Skor bars)
Bake cake according to package directions. Let cool 30 minutes. Poke holes a few inches apart all over the top of the cake. Pour sweetened condensed milk over cake, spread evenly and let set 5 minutes. Spread with fudge and let set 5 minutes. Top with cool whip and crushed candy bars and keep refrigerated.

This cake is a winner! My son would do a jig if I made this!
Happy 50th to Tina. Oh, I wish I were ONLY 50 again!
This cake looks decadent and rich; in other words, it looks yummy!
