Fairy Bread

I have no idea how this neat treat got the name fairy bread. I was searching allrecipes.com and came across this simple snack. It's an Aussie party favorite. I knew anything with sprinkles would be a hit with my kids. Well, I was right! We had war over the last piece (Miss Picky Pants won). They're already asking if I'll be making more tomorrow. The answer would be yes :) Fairy bread's fun to make and eat. My kids think I'm awesome. By tomorrow I'm sure they will change their minds, so I'd better enjoy it while it lasts.

FAIRY BREAD
8 slices white bread, with crusts trimmed (I left mine on because my kids like crusts)
1/4 cup margarine, softened
1/4 cup multicolored candy sprinkles

Spread margarine onto slices of bread. Cover with sprinkles. Cut into triangles to serve. Could it get any easier?

My husband's mom is Australian, and she would make this for her kids when they were younger. I tried to make it once when we were first married. Go figure, he said I didn't make it like his mom did. :-P

That's great! We put sprinkles on our open face peanut butter sandwiches, too...great fun!
I made this for my kids right after I read this the other day...I found it funny how quickly bread and butter was gobbled up!! ;-)

I think I need to remember how helpful sprinkles could become in some other dishes!! Sprinkles aren't really that sweet, either, so I might be able to sprinkle them on just about anything to excite it up!! :-D
