Max's Mud Cake

I can't believe my littlest girl's already 6! It seems like only yesterday I was delivering my 9 pound 8 ouncer. My little Sophie's taught me a lot in 6 short years. She's the sweetest and meanest all rolled into one. Sophie's loud and outgoing, yet tender hearted. You don't easily forget her. She worms her way into your heart (her daddy calls her worm). She loves the cartoon Max & Ruby and picked Max's Mud Cake for her birthday cake this year. I had a lot of fun baking and decorating it. Everyone at the party said it was really good. I'll bet it tastes much better than Max's cake... his is made of real mud! Sophie probably would have enjoy a real mud cake... her favorite birthday gift was the slime her brother gave her. The messier the better with her :)

MAX'S MUD CAKE
1 chocolate cake mix baked according to directions for 2 8 or 9 inch round cake pans and cooled

1 can chocolate icing

1 box instant pudding

1 1/2 cups milk

oreo cookies crushed in food processor

gummy worms

Mix pudding and milk with a wire whisk for 2 minutes. Layer pudding between cakes and frost the cake with chocolate frosting. Sprinkle cake with crushed oreo cookies and place gummy worms on cake.

We call this dirt cake and it's been a favorite in our house for years!! The boys have requested this as their birthday cake every year I think. I put it in a ceramic flower pot with some fake plastic flowers coming out of the top. It's always a huge hit!

Sophie is adorable!

I love the cake! My daughter was a big fan of Max and Ruby when she was younger. Your cake looks much more appetizing than the mud cake that Max made!
Love this! My daughter loves the show as well, so she would go just crazy for this cake! You are so creative :)

These cakes are so cute! I've seen them done a couple times but never made one myself. My little boy's b-day is in 2 weeks, maybe I'll give it a shot.
