"Secret's in the Sauce" BBQ Ribs

Thank goodness for the weekend, crock pots and taste of home winning recipes! When I got the latest issue of taste of home magazine I couldn't wait to find the recipe for the yummy looking ribs on the cover. Turns out they were the winner of the five ingredient contest. I knew I had to give them a try. Let me tell you, they were extremely easy and very yummy. I understand why this dish was the first place winner. I find since I started working I'm using my crock pot more and more. My biggest advice for the crock pot would be to not overcook the food. Previously, if a recipe said to cook 6-8 hours I always cooked it 8 hours... now I go for 6 and it has made all the difference. Enjoy your weekend and enjoy these ribs :)

"SECRET'S IN THE SAUCE" BBQ RIBS
2 racks pork baby back ribs (4 1/2 lbs.)
1 1/2 tsp pepper
2 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
3/4 cup cherry preserves
1 TBSP Dijon mustard
1 minced garlic clove
Cut ribs into serving-size pieces; sprinkle with pepper. Place in a 5 or 6 qt. slow cooker. Combine the remaining ingredients; pour over ribs. Cover and cook on low for 6 - 8 hours or until meat's tender. Serve with sauce.

Ole Sweetie-Pi won't do meat on the bone, so I think this would be fab on boneless chicken or maybe a flank steak! Good find and good share!

I think this is the very recipe that caught my eye in the newest Taste of Home magazine! You are right on with the crock pot! Sometimes it seems as if "less is more" when it comes to cooking times! Looks delicious!!!

That sounds simply delicious. I am intrigued by the addition of cherry preserves. The smell while cooking must have been fantastic!

I love ribs, but usually the recipe is difficult to follow - I love how easy these are!

I used to go 8 hours on mine too and things were overcooked. Actually my crockpot is way too big for a family of four. I wish it was smaller.

These sound super yummy!
