Grilled Cube Steak

Did you have a wonderful weekend? I'd hoped to get a lot accomplished, but didn't. That's the story of every weekend at my house! I've been excited to see my Miss Picky Pants as front page news. I woke up bright and early to read her story, then went into town and bought a copy... or 13 :) Click here to see my superstar.
Ever wonder if there's anything to do with cube steaks except flour and fry them? We bought half of a cow and had it processed last month and I was left with that question. My co-workers Dana and Linda insisted grilling them was delicious. Who would have thought? I'd never heard of anyone grilling them. I thought they would be very tough and dry, but I was wrong. These grilled cube steaks are WONDERFUL!!! Dana said it's one of her girls' favorites and I can say it was a hit at our house too... just be careful not to overcook them. Enjoy :)

Season both sides of steak well with seasoning salt. Grill until they reach desired done-ness.

I would have thought they would be tough to if you grilled them. I can't wait to try it.

Actually, I have tried that. At the time, there were a lot of folks on the BBQ news forum that were swearing by these as a burger.

I thought they were good but couldn't help but think how good a chicken fried steak burger would be ;)

BTW, If you happen to find some ribeyes and tenderloin missing from your 1/2 cow, I don't know anything about it. No, you can't look inside my freezer ;)

They are great grilled and have done it many times, people can't believe it! My uncle grilled them and we were amazed way back when.

Hmmm. Heidi, I'd never heard of this either, until now. Great read, I think I'll try it and then make sandwichs with them. Surprise, Surprise! I'm enjoying all the other posts up here too and am now your follower. That Grilled steak sandwich looks professional! Hope you'll stop in and see my crazy page some time. Take care, Keri (a.k.a. Sam)

What a sweet story of your daughter!!! A great looking steak too - I wouldn't have thought of grilling a cube steak either. Gonna have to try that now that it's starting to warm up finally!
