Pizza Puffs

Can you hear my deep breath out??? My crazy, busy week's finally over. Now I'm trying to get my laundry caught back up. What a bummer :( Good thing these adorable little pizza puffs saved the day. They made a great Saturday lunch for the kids. After seeing them on several blogs I knew I had to try them. I'm so glad I did because they were very easy and the kids went crazy over them. Enjoy :)

PEPPERONI PIZZA PUFFS
3/4 cup flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1 TBSP pizza seasoning
3/4 cup milk
1 egg- slightly beaten
1 cup mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1 package mini pepperoni (or 1 cup cut up)
1/2 cup pizza sauce

Preheat oven to 375. Grease a mini muffin pan. Whisk flour, baking powder and pizza seasoning in bowl. Whisk in milk and egg. Stir in cheeses and pepperoni. Let stand for 10 minutes. Stir and divide in mini muffin cups. Bake 20-25 minutes or until puffed and golden. Serve with warmed pizza sauce.

Yum! My kids and I made pepperoni pizza croissants for lunch. We'll have to give these a try next time. :)

Have you tried freezing them? These would be great to keep a stash of and pull out for a quick kids' lunch or snack during the summer.

I just saved this to try soon for the boys this summer. What is "pizza seasoning"? Just a mix of red pepper, oregano, basil, etc ?

Chris- The original recipe called for pizza seasoning, but I had never heard of it. I just mixed my own and put spices like garlic, oregano, basil... anything you would use in pizza. I didn't use red pepper, but it would give it a kick :)

B. Keefer- I've never tried freezing them, but I don't see why it wouldn't work great. Thanks for the great idea :)

I feel ya Heidi! It's never ending and generally my weekends are even busier. I'm having a light one this weekend though. :)

I don't think I've seen these pizza puffs so, I'm glad you posted them. You're right these would be great for a weekend lunch or as a snack when the kids have friends over.

I really loved these! Yours look great. I can't wait to make them again!
This is a fantastic idea. Forget the kids. I think, I would love these. To pop one in my mouth instead of a piece of chocolate would be satisfying.

sorry, forgot I had a question. What's in pizza seasoning? I don't have any, but I could probably substitue some other seasonings right? Do you know what goes into it?
