What I've been doing

Just wanted to stop in and say I will not be posting any new recipes today. I'm not trying to dessert you (ha ha, get it... dessert) I've just spent the last 26 hours in the hospital. Turns out Makayla's viral infection wasn't a virus at all. It was kidney stones and a UTI! She woke up yesterday morning in excruciating pain. The pediatrician sent her to a urologist and then the urologist sent her straight to the hospital. They got her pain managed and yesterday evening she was able to pass the stone (which had broken up into a sand consistency). The x ray this morning came back clear so she was finally able to leave. We will be doing a 24 hour "save the pee" test (didn't want to use the other word on a food blog) to see if we can find out what mineral caused the stone and hopefully stop the next one before it starts. Will be back posting as soon as I get a new recipe cooked :)

Oh your poor lil girl.
I, too, had a kidney stone this weekend.
Friday I passed it...on my 40th bday.

I can't imagine a little girl with all that pain.
(((HUGS)))to you & to her.
