Valentine's Cookie Bars

I was so excited to share my recipe for gluten free banana bread.... and nobody liked it:( In my 2 years of blogging I don't think I've ever posted a recipe and received no comments :( I'm a little sad and depressed. Do I not have any gluten free peeps reading my blog? Enough feeling sorry for myself! Here's a recipe sure to tickle your Valentine's fancy. Who doesn't love a great cookie bar? My kiddies and honey (I shouldn't be so nice after his driving through the house stunt!) gobbled these treats right up. I think they may have last a day. Enjoy :)

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE BARS
2 sticks butter- softened
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup m & m's

Cream butter & sugars until fluffy. Add soda, salt, and mix. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until just incorporated. Add flour and mix until well blended. Fold in m & m's and chocolate chips. Place in greased 9 x 13 baking pan and bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. Cool. Cut. Enjoy!

My parents called this morning to tell me they were on their way down to my house and wanted a sweet treat. I saw this and decided to make it--I DO NOT regret it! I have only one small row of these bars left; we loved the recipe.

Thanks for sharing!
