Today's Savings!!!

This is probably super boring to everyone, but I'm so excited I saved $40.00 when buying these items today by price matching and coupons.  We're big fans of TLC's Extreme Couponing and while we didn't get $2,000 worth of groceries for free like they do on the show, we did save a considerable amount and only bought items we will use.  It's actually quite fun and addicting!  My kids even love clipping coupons.   Here's the low down on what I bought:

6 boxes of cereal (using BOGO price match and coupon)= $1 per box instead of $3.38 per box
4 boxes of fruit snacks (BOGO pricing match)= $1.14 per box instead of $2.28
2 corn bread/muffin mixes (BOGO price match)= 21 cents per pack instead of 88 cents
4 muffin mixes (BOGO)= 44 cents per pack instead of 88 cents
2 brownie mixes (BOGO)= 49 cents per pack instead of 97 cents
2 packages Oreo cookies (price match)= $1.50 per pack instead of $3.00
2 Arm & Hammer laundry detergent (price match)= $2.50 per bottle instead of $4.00
2 travel sized Advil (coupon)= I made 32 cents for buying these with a $4.00/2 coupon and they were $1.84
1 travel sized Advil (coupon)= 84 cents instead of $1.84
2 cake mixes (BOGO & coupon) & 2 icing= $2.88 instead of $5.58
And a lot of price matches on fresh produce (not shown)

This is the FREE food my kids got today!  Our community started doing a free summer lunch program this week at the church and on Fridays they send them with a grocery sack each full of food.

I would love to hear how you save on your grocery bill!!!

That is awesome. I have always used a coupon here and there but recently I have been trying to be an extreme couponer but on a smaller scale, there is only me and the Mr at home so no need to buy 100 boxes of cereal lol. I also started a coupon blog where I share on deals Ive only done myself and explain how and which coupons to use. Hope you'll check it out

Congrats on your savings. I am a big fan of price matching and have been doing the coupons for a long time now but have gotten into it more in the past 9 months. Keep up the great work.
Wow, you really did well! My best buy ever was stocking up on shampoo when it was on sale for $1 a bottle, and the store had a policy that if the price didn't ring up correctly you got the item free. 15 bottles of free shampoo! Woohoo!

I too was inspired by Extreme Couponing! Tried my matchups for the first time at CVS last week and did a great job stocking up on shampoo, toothpaste and more. I will go back this week to spend my Extra Care Bucks and use some more coupons. Maybe this weekend I'll try it at the grocery store!

I just signed up for an extreme couponing class here in my town. I'm looking forward to learning more about how this works. ;)

I am so impressed. Where did you get your coupons? Did your KC Star pay off?

I've been couponing for a few months now too. My basement pantry was getting bare and it is now filled with items we use, all purchased at 50% or less. This week I came home with free hot sauce, free zip lock bags, hair styling products and more. Free is the best!
