Heidi's Boneless Country Style Ribs

Today was my first day at work. I spent the first half of the day painting the bathroom stalls with stinky enamel paint... by myself with no one to talk to (now that was hard for me!). The rest of the day I helped clean classrooms and spot painted. My excitement was getting a rash from the paint thinner. I know you guys are all jealous of my fun filled day. I'm not a morning person and hated getting up at 5. Now... onto the food. Brad grilled these country style ribs and they were marvelous! I came up with the rub myself :) I had never had country style ribs and I loved them. I'm typically not a big rib fan because I feel like I'm just eating bone and fat... these solve that problem. If you've never tried country style ribs, you must! I know I'm posting late. The days I work I will be posting in the evening rather than the morning. I will also apologize in advance for not leaving comments on your posts. I'm running short of time, but I will get to them all on my days off.

HEIDI'S BONELESS COUNTRY STYLE RIBS
2 lb boneless country style ribs
3 tsp kosher salt
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp cumin
3 tsp paprika
1 TBSP brown sugar

Mix all seasonings in a big zip loc bag. Add meat and shake to coat well. Let set in refrigerator at least 2 hours. Grill.

I love country style ribs. I cook them in the crockpot all the time. These look fantastic.
I too like the country style ribs... and they are easier to find at reasonable prices! Glad you got one day of work under your belt. Hopefully the rest of the week will go better! :) Hang in there!

My kids LOVE ribs and order them at restaurants, but I've never made them myself. You make it sound easy enough, I'll have to try it.

These look awesome Heidi. I will have to try the country style ribs. I don't know if I have ever eaten them.

Hope the next day at work goes better. Get a little ipod shuffle and listen to some tunes while you work. I think you can even get them used for not very much money. :0)

I've never made ribs. Maybe it's time I try. They look great!

I second the comment on the ipod. Music is great but I love listening to podcasts. There are some great talk programs out there and you can learn so much while you are working. I love focus on family with Dr. Dobson. It has so many broadcasts that help strengthen the family. Or go to the library and get a book on CD to download. It makes time go by so fast! Have a great week.

I love ribs! Really, really love them. These look delicious.

5 am has to be rough. Keep up the good work! Any interesting words scratched into the stalls you were painting?

I'm in the same boat lately. I haven't gotten a chance to comment on my fave blogs. I'm still reading, at a glance. Crazy summer!
Ugh... 5:00 a.m. is too early for anybody!! And sorry about the rash ouch!

I love these kinds of ribs too - but hey, I love ALL kinds of ribs! Your rub sounds great!

Heidi, the ribs look great. I rarely eat them for the same reason as you; now I am convinced to try them again, grins.

Five a.m. is hard. You'll get into a routine and it will become easier, perhaps not pleasant, but easier.

Always glad to see you whenever I can!

I've never had the best luck with country style ribs, but perhaps that's because I've never found the right recipe/cooking method! We've certainly never tried grilling them! I definitely love the fact that they are often on sale, so if I could find that "perfect recipe", I'd be much more inclined to buy them more frequently!

I hope the rest of your work week is better! Getting up that early is rough!!! Hang in there :)

I hope your second day on the job doesn't involve any more rashes! I think getting up early will get easier as time goes by.

I love country style ribs. They're so much meatier than the other kinds.

Hey Heidi, good luck with the job. Sometimes the first few days give the wrong impression. I agree that some music might really make things better.

The ribs looks AWESOME!
I also love the country style ribs; they are so meaty and good. Yours look delicious- what a wonderful meal to have after a hard day at work!
I hope your job goes really well for you, Heidi.
