Simple Pasta with Tomato

It seems I have not managed my time well yet again! It's time to put everyone to bed and I'm just now getting around to posting. I did get my dinner done for tomorrow night. I made meatballs and all I have to do is pop them in the oven and they will be done in an hour. I'm sure I will still be running around like a chicken with it's head cut off tomorrow evening. Actually I know I will because I have to bake Sophie's birthday cake. My baby's turning 6 Thursday! By the way, her bites are much better. No more hands down the pants itching :) I wanted to share this quick, easy and inexpensive recipe my husband's been enjoying since he was a little boy. His grandma made this pasta for him. It was one of his favorites and now we all love it too. At only about 25 cents per serving you can't go wrong!

SIMPLE PASTA WITH TOMATO
1/2 pound thin spaghetti noodles
1 can diced tomatoes
salt and pepper to taste

Cook and drain pasta and return cooked pasta to pan. Add diced tomatoes with the juice to the pasta and heat until warmed through. Salt and pepper to taste. If you feel fancy add some garlic powder. I've added fresh herbs like basil and oregano also and they were yummy.

Sometimes simple is the best! I do a simple shell pasta in tomato soup with cheese sometimes. It's something my godmother used to make when I spent the night with my cousins and it's always bee one of my comfort things!

Hope things settle down for you soon! Happy birthday to baby Sophie!!

Trust me, I didnt post until 9:30 last night. I am not a good manager of my time, either. But this looks so quick and easy.

The pasta looks good. I love to have recipes you can make quickly when you don't feel like spending an hour preparing dinner.

Happy birthday to Sophie! I'm glad to hear she's feeling better now.

I do this, but with a cup of macaroni. It's not my favorite, but hubby loves it. I usually sprinkle a bit of sugar on for a sweeter taste.

We regularly use canned italian diced tomatoes in our spaghetti sauce whenever we make spaghetti. Simply delicious. Ihaven't treid it without the sauce. I will give it a try next time.
