Snickerdoodle blondies

If you've never tried one of my recipes, today's the day to start!! These blondie's don't look like much, but they were a HUGE hit at my house. If you've never eaten a blondie and think these look like plain ol' cookie bars, you will be pleasantly surprised. Think brownie texture and consistency minus the chocolate and loaded with cinnamon and sugar. OK, stop reading and get out your pen and paper and start writing!!! Enjoy... I know you will :)

SNICKERDOODLE BLONDIES
2 2/3 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg (I left out because I was out)
1 tsp salt
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup butter- room temperature
2 eggs- room temperature
1 tsp vanilla
2 TBSP sugar mix with 2 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350. Combine flour, baking powder, 1 tsp cinnamon, nutmeg and salt; set aside. Beat butter and brown sugar 3 - 5 minutes. Add eggs 1 at a time mixing well after each. Add vanilla and beat until smooth. Stir in flour mixture and spread in greased 9 x 13 baking dish. Sprinkle combined sugar and cinnamon mixture over top and bake 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Don't overbake!! Cool and cut.

Oh but they look and the texture like a brownie is one I would enjoy. Thanks for sharing your recipe. I am trying to diet this month so I bookmarked it for next month or I could go off the wagon and eat sugar at any minute:)

Small world! I made these exact blondies last night for the people in my office. They are more like a cookie bar than a brownie texture but delicious all the same. I included nutmeg in mine and I believe it really took them to the next taste level! Make these NOW!

I love the enthusiasm you have :)

Your blondies look so yummy! I don't ordinarily have a real sweet tooth, but I love recipes like this! My son goes back to preschool tomorrow (which he's been kind of bummed about), so maybe I'll tell him that we'll make these when he gets home, so he has something to look forward to! That would be kind of evil of me, though, since my husband started his diet today! More for us! :)

I somehow managed to fail at the last blondie attempt i tried. Your description makes me want to try again. I love the texture of a brownie, so I just might have to give in and make these :)

LOL, I don't think I've ever had a blondie (no kidding!) but after your effusive recommendation, I feel a gap in my life due to this oversight. Will definitely add these to my stash of must makes. Cinnamon is a big personal favorite! YUM

I've been making these for the past two years and pretty much have the recipe donw pat. It's my children's favorite and I'm almost famous around their school for these bad boys. :)

These were fantastic! I was a little concerned when my dough came out looking like your typical cookie dough, but I was able to press them into the brownie pan and they were a HUGE hit. People have asked me for the recipe!
These just moved up to the top of my baking list. If they are like brownies and not mere imitations, I am all for it.
