All-American Hamburgers

Ever been in a cooking rut? Ya know... where you can't find anything that sounds good to make? Well, that's me. I never thought me, of all people, would classify in that category. I love to cook. I love food. So please, a little help here. I'm working on my grocery list and would love to hear what recipe you think I should try.
Here's a yummy one from Simple & Delicious. There's not much more comforting than a juicy burger on the grill. These didn't disappoint. They were moist, delicious and perfect. Enjoy :)

ALL-AMERICAN HAMBURGERS
2 TBSP finely chopped onion
2 TBSP ketchup
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp steak sauce
1/4 teaspoon cider vinegar
1 pound ground beef
4 slices process American cheese
4 hamburger buns, split
8 cooked bacon strips
Optional toppings: lettuce leaves and tomato and onion slices

In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into four patties. Grill burgers, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 5-7 minutes on each side or until a meat thermometer reads 160° and juices run clear. Top with cheese. Grill 1 minute longer or until cheese is melted. Serve on buns with bacon and toppings of your choice.

I love a juicy, delicious hamburger. Yum! I think I'm slowly coming out of my cooking slump, but it hasn't been easy!

I'm going to recommend this sweet and sour chicken, and, because I know you love taco-ish things, this taco soup, which cooks right in the crock pot so it's perfect for these hot summer days. :)

I soooo understand where you are. I love cooking, but sometimes I can't think of anything I want to make.

Here is my new favorite...fresh summer pasta...it is great right now with all the vegetables.

Your hamburger recipe sounds a lot like Shaina's dad's meatloaf and for him, it's just a matter of shape as to which one he makes.
This week I made buttermilk cider chicken (which I made some mods to for convenience): http://www.gourmet.org/recipes/main-dish/buttermilk-cider-chicken-*/

and black bean and chicken flauta's (again with some recipe mods for ease): http://www.bhg.com/recipe/poultry/chicken-flautas-with-black-beans/

The burgers look delicious! We're big fans of burgers on the grill around here. Our latest obsession is to brush them with barbeque sauce a few minutes before taking them off the grill. The sauce caramelizes and gives the burgers excellent flavor.

As far as your cooking slump, I think we all go through that. When I need some inspiration, I usually search out some authentic ethnic recipes (Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Greek, etc.). I've found some great new recipes that way.

i was just barely in a rut like that too, i think summer is a tough time to cook. this looks so good, i bet those burgers are packed with flavor!

Oh yeah, I've gotten in those ruts too. I haven't found the perfect cure. Sometimes I just quit cooking for a few days. Other times I just force myself to stay off of the grill for a few days.

That happens to me all of the time. But because I'm obsessed with planning meals, I force myself to push through it, drag out all of my cookbooks, magazine, and browse bookmarked recipes and then make myself sit there making a menu plan until I start to feel inspired again when I find a recipe that I just can't wait to try.

These burgers sound awesome, by the way.

Good luck finding your way out of the slump : )
