Can't Leave Alone Bars

It's been a while since my last post. Don't worry, this one's worth the wait! Our school Booster Club had a bake sale yesterday and I immediately knew what I wanted to bring. I've been making these sinfully delicious bars for at least 7 years. I was shocked to realize I hadn't posted them yet... so your in for a treat. I'm happy to say these bars didn't last long at the bake sale and I even got recipe requests. Who wouldn't want the recipe after sinking their teeth into these fudgy, yum-o-licious goodies? I first found the recipe in Quick Cooking (now Simple & Delicious). This one's most definitely a MUST TRY, so put it on your grocery list. Enjoy :)

CAN'T LEAVE ALONE BARS
1 package (18-1/4 ounces) white or yellow cake mix
2 eggs
1/3 cup canola oil
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter, cubed

In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs and oil. Press two-thirds of the mixture into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Set remaining cake mixture aside. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the milk, chocolate chips and butter. Microwave, uncovered, until chips and butter are melted; stir until smooth. Pour over crust.
Drop teaspoonfuls of remaining cake mixture over top. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool before cutting.

So funny! My name's Heidi too and we made a pan of these this weekend. The first time we ever had these was when were at family camp so my kids call them "Camp Leave Alone Bars". My daughter requested them for her Camp Rock 2 sleepover and I happily obliged.

Just came accross this recipe yesterday and went to bake it and discovered I am out of sweetened condensed milk. I will be making them in the near future though. Looks so yummy.
