Last month I posted a recipe for a really yummy taco ring. Sandy over at I Love Sweet Treats tried it out, found it tasty and gave me a GREAT idea. She suggested trying the taco ring idea with ground beef and spaghetti sauce. I immediately knew I must try this out. Tonight I wung it and made a winner :) Brad was quite proud of my recipe. I served it with garlic buttered noodles and the kids all had happy plates (our word for an empty plate). This is a great change from regular old spaghetti and a real kid pleaser. This is perfect if you are in a boring spaghetti rut! I hope you all enjoy my spaghetti-gone-wild concoction :)
SPAGHETTI RING
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 chopped onion
1 1/2 cups spaghetti sauce, divided
1/4 cup mozzarella cheese
1 tube refrigerated crescent rolls
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp oregano
Preheat oven to 375. Brown ground beef and onion; drain any excess fat. Add 1 cup of spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese. Stir to mix well. Set aside. Arrange unrolled crescent roll triangles in a circle shape overlapping them with the points facing out. It will look like a big sun with a hole in the center. Spoon meat mixture around the ring. Fold triangle points over filling. Sprinkle with garlic powder, oregano, a small amount of cheese and bake for 12-17 minutes, or until crescents are browned.
