Mmmmmm... I love the flavor of cinnamon and sugar. They make quite the combination. Growing up I looked forward to cinnamon toast for breakfast. It's a great way to dress up boring old toast. I think if toast went to prom cinnamon and sugar would be what it would wear :) My mom always made it like regular toast and then sprinkled the cinnamon and sugar on top. That's how I've always made it. I heard a friend raving about how her mom always broiled it in the oven so I decided to give it a try. Here's the result:
The kids complained the crust was hard, but still ate it. I've made it several times since and used the handy dandy toaster. It's much easier not turning the oven on and getting a pan dirty, so my vote sticks with the toaster cinnamon toast. How do you make your cinnamon toast???CINNAMON TOAST
bread
butter
cinnamon sugar (my favorite ratio is: 2 TBSP sugar & 2 tsp cinnamon)
Toaster Method
Toast bread in toaster, spread with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
Broiler Method
Butter bread and place on baking sheet. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and broil until golden and bubbly.
